The Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) and the Argyle Management Agreement (AMPA) are probably the most comprehensive agreements ever negotiated between a commodity company and traditional owners in Australia. They are the result of one of the most comprehensive agreement processes with traditional owners. The unique structure of the agreements reflects the aspirations of the Argyle Diamond Mine and the traditional owners for the agreements to provide a solid foundation for lasting partnership and prosperity for traditional owners over the life of the Argyle mine and after the completion of mining.1 An ILUA is a voluntary agreement entered into in good faith by all parties.
